Artist Statment

I am an Amsterdam-based artist working with wood, steel and bronze to create larger than life sculptures that connect everyday life with the natural world.

Life is an optical illusion, we are limited and extended by our own mindset. The flip side often unfolds through time. A minute, an hour, a lifetime. I explore these spaces through line, form and color.

Feelings reached through art therapist techniques help to reach a deep place of understanding. I use humor and wit to make art approachable. I aspire for public interaction through the arts.

Technical industrial design skills come in handy during each phase in designing and producing large sculpture installations.  I navigate each phase, from initial sketch to production and installation with the materials (steel, wood, stone, ceramic, bronze, glass and paint,) that best express the story. I strive to include sprinkles of innovation.

I utilize coaching techniques to include local community participation workshops. I aspire my art to be a connection portal between people through the ages of time.
