Open Ateliers Jordaan takes place during the Bank Holiday weekend -pinksteren- (saturday 22nd, sunday 23rd & monday 24th May 2010), 80 artists in the picturesque centre of old Amsterdam, the Jordaan, will open their studios and work places to the public.

You are welcome to visit, free of charge and with no obligations studios between 12.00 and 6.00 pm. You will be able to meet other Amsterdam artists, like myself - including painters, photographers, ceramists, sculptors, designers and jewelry designers, and view their work in their own studios.

You are welcome to start your tour at Atelier Werkplaats Molenpad- I have maps of the exhibits! Address is Molenpad 17d (corner of Prinsengracht). I will be there with the doors open from 12:00-6:00 pm on all days, with lots of yummy snacks! The freshly baked chocolate coconut macroons are amazing! We will have a musician in the studio on and off! Today we had 3 artists performing- they played acoustic guitar and sang original written music. The musicians, were: Yori Swart, Mira Falk, and Jolien Grunberg. Thank you for your great performances!

Open Studios Jordaan has been organized once every two years ever since 1988 and has become tremendously popular with the public.

Central exhibition
There will also be a Central Exhibition during the Open Studios Jordaan. This is on the Elandstraat 44. This exhibition contains one work by each of the participating artists, including a sample piece of my work. There is also a map available showing where all the artists can be found. The studios themselves can be recognized by a flag.

Transport
During the Bank Holiday weekend a bus-taxi will be driving through the entire area, and visitors will be able to use this free of charge. http://www.openateliersjordaan.nl/home/english.php

Tomorrow is the last day to visit this unique occassion that i have opened the atelier to the public like this!

Many visitors have been asking about the  painting classes in the atelier. The weekly classes start off again in September. If you would like to get a hands on feeling of these classes prior to registering for the weekly classes, I will be offering two more workshop days due to popular demand. They will take place on sunday June 20th and sunday August 29th ! These workshops are from 10:00am – 5:00pm ! The low fee is 75 euro for the day including materials and tax.  Mind you, these courses fill quickly as I limit the participants to 8 !
